This Lube Boost Tool Kit is necessary to install the lube boost valve included in the SK 6T40-G3 SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit.
At the start of production for the 2015 model year, General Motors upgraded the 6T40 series of transmissions to GEN3 with an off-axis chain driven pump incorporating a lube boost valve.
This lube boost valve is very active and exhibits extreme low mileage wear (up to .060”). To salvage the pump, TransGo engineered an oversize hardened steel valve and spring combination to minimize the valve oscillation responsible for premature bore wear, ensuring a lasting fix.
How to use:
Use the guide that fits your casting the tightest without forcing it. Use WD-40® and low speed on your favorite portable drill and let the carbide reamer do the cutting until it bottoms in the bore.
