The Sonnax® wide reaction sun gear bushing 77010-01 for listed GM units, is one-and-a-half times the width of the OE version and fills the entire sun gear bushing groove. This wider bushing maximizes support. The bushing is steel-backed bronze that is precision machined to provide minimal clearance with the mating shaft.
Provides better control of lube oil
Has more support for sun gear and reaction shell
Greater longevity than OE bushing
1.5 Times wider than OE for maximum support
Warning:
Measure the sun gear bore. Installing this bushing into a bore that is smaller than 1.705”-1.706” will result in a tight fit with the mating reaction shaft.
May not work in some late-production sun gears with OE finish-in-place bushings.
Symptoms:
Bushing failure
Reaction carrier shaft damage
Cause:
Oil leakage due to inadequate support of the reaction sun gear.
Correction:
Sonnax® wide reaction sun gear bushing is more than one-and-a-half times as wide as the OE and maximizes bushing support.
